IEEE CAS Malaysia Chapter has sent few delegates to the 1st IEEE South-East Asia Workshop on Circuits and Systems (SEACAS) 2017 which was held at Vietnam National University (VNU) in Hanoi, Vietnam on 7th-8th November 2017.The IEEE CAS representatives are Yoshifumi Nishio (IEEE CASS BoG Member) and Amara Amara (Vice President of IEEE CASS). Besides CAS Malaysia, other CAS chapters were also invited to the workshop such as Indonesia’s chapter, Singapore’s chapter and Thailand’s chapter. The travelling expenses from Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi were supported by the IEEE CAS Region 10 and also CAS Malaysia.  CAS Malaysia’s delegates came to support the new IEEE CAS establishment in Hanoi, Vietnam and to share research project and IEEE CAS Malaysia’s activities to other CAS chapters. During the first day of symposium, CAS Malaysia’s delegate, Dr. Fakhrul Zaman presented his talk entitled ‘Reaching the Unreached: Case of CAS Malaysia’, introducing Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and SOC research group and shared communication’s platform for IEEE such as website, e-newsletter and Facebook. Next, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suhaidi Shafie (chair of CAS Malaysia) presented his research project entitled ‘Design of Ultra Low SAR ADC’. On the second day of symposium, CAS Malaysia’s past chair, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurul Amziah Md Yunus shared the IEEE CAS Malaysia’s activities for the year 2016-2017. IEEE CAS Malaysia has been awarded as World Chapter of the Year for 2016 and 2017.
