High Tea 2016

2015 IEEE CAS HIGH-TEA NETWORKING EVENT

Date: 28th October 2015

 The Event

The IEEE High-Tea Networking 2015 is organized by IEEE CAS Malaysia Chapter, Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Department and Centre for Student Internship, Mobility and Adjunct Lectureship (CSIMAL) of UTP. The high-tea event intends to bring engineers, researchers, scientists and others who involved in circuits and systems applications access to the industry’s most essential technical information, networking opportunities, career development tools and many other exclusive benefits. This event will also provide opportunities for IEEE CAS M members, EEE department and CSIMAL members, a platform to interact and share knowledge and aspiration with industries, academia and professional bodies and government representatives.

Objectives

IEEE CAS High-Tea Networking is a yearly event, which aims

  • To be a platform for intellectual interaction between IEEE member, fellows, engineers and academicians
  • To share knowledge and opportunities
  • To promote the IEEE CAS society programs and membership
  • To foster collaboration and cooperation

Target Audience

A total of 100 participants are expected to attend the session representing

  • Industries and Research Institutes related to circuits and system.
  • Government and Funding bodies
  • Academicians from Local and International Institutions.
  • Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students of Local and International Institutions.

Theme

InterIoTnet of Things (IoT) for Sustainable Living

is a rapidly emerging application space, poised to become the largest electronics market for the semiconductor industry. The Internet of Things allows objects and processes to be sensed and controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure, creating opportunities for more direct integration between the physical world and computer-based systems, and resulting in improved living efficiency, accuracy and economic benefit.  IoT promises to be a broad driving force that will create significant new innovation, facilitate new business models and improve global society in unimaginable ways.

Organizational Background

The IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Malaysia Chapter (IEEE CAS M) is the leading organization that promotes the advancement of the theory, analysis, design tools, and implementation of circuits and systems. The field spans their theoretical foundations, applications, and architectures, as well as circuits and systems implementation of algorithms for signal and information processing.

Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) was established in 1997 and has grown to be one of the most prominent private universities in Malaysia.  UTP offers wide range of industry-relevant engineering and technology programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. UTP is the only private university in Malaysia to be rated a 4-star institution by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), with a maximum five-star rating in five areas out of eight, namely employability, internationalization, innovation, facilities and access.
